Environmental history, political economy, and settler colonialism

I’m an historian working on agricultural expansion in the British Empire, with a particular emphasis on settler states. I am currently working on a book based on my dissertation project titled Earth Hunger: Agriculture, Settler Colonialism, and the Global Grain Trade, 1846-1914. My work explores the interconnectedness between industrial development and scientific change on the agrarian frontier.

Right now, I’m a Postdoctoral Associate in the Center for Cultural Analysis at Rutgers University.
